Flickr photo problems

I’m new to expression engine and am trying to add support for a flickr stream. I downloaded and installed the following addon. http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/flickr/ . Everything went smoothly except for the part when I had to create a custom field. The instructions didn’t mention anything about creating a field group (I assumed this was old directions from ee 1.6). I created a field group and the custom field, but I just don’t know how to get this to work on my page. I have tried there example code, but I keep getting fatal errors that end in “Api_channel_fields.php on line 3” . If someone has experience with this addon, I would love to hear from you. Like I said, this is my first time with EE and I’m just not comfortable with it yet. I thought for some reason you needed to create a channel entry, but this wasn’t in the directions.
