ImageSizer: possible to change crop method?

I’m using the great ImageSizer plugin to create thumbnail images from larger images. By default, when I image need to be cropped is crops from center/center both horz and vert.
I have a client who might be putting text at the top of images and for the thumbnails they don’t want to text cut off. So we need to crop from center/top instead of center/center. Is it possible to modify the plugin to change the vertical alignment of the crop?
