Parse tags for hyperlinks?

Development and Programming

Anyone know of a way to do this:

I am looking to take the results of an add-on that puts text into a tag (let’s call it {text} for this example). {text} is returning a Twitter post in my case.

{text} may or may not have hyperlinks in them. For example, {text} may output “Check out ExpressionEngine at http://expressionengine.com”.

I’m looking for a way to evaluate the {text} tag and automatically convert any http://… or https://… links to be actual working hyperlinks.

Thoughts?

Hi, Jason. This sounds like a Development question. Are you building some sort of add-on?

Actually, I’m using someone else’s add-on. It spits out a Twitter status and other REST responses, but does not parse the links.

Looking to overcome that shortfall. 😊

Sounds good. It’s still a development question of sorts so I just move this thread for you 😊
