I’ve only been using EE for a few months. My company does a significant amount of custom work-flow development. I wanted to see if anyone has an article to reference or any ideas on the best way to integrate an EE managed site with a publicly available custom work-flow application.

To be more specific, we have a customer that allows their clients to apply for various incentives. These applications are then moved through a process via a custom back-end which we’ve built separately from EE. However, we’d like to integrate the front-end with EE to allow them to manage some of the content on those pages, and keep the navigation/page structure consistent.

If this doesn’t make sense, I can provide further clarification.

Thanks for any direction you can give!

Usually in situations like this you essentially have two sites on two servers that each have the same design and navigation that points to each other where appropriate. The sites merge in the browser, in other words.

You may be able to do something more integrated like iFrames etc but that all depends on the functionality that needs to happen.
