Anyway. We’re going to be supporting it in our own forums… but I do visit the EE forums regularly.
Congratulations on the launch Chris.
Will probably bombard you with questions at some point in the near future for a site which requires a fuller commerce solution but definitely not one that I reckon would be covered out of the box. Still, doesn’t hurt to ask.
Hope it all goes well for you with the launch.
Best wishes,
Mark
Would really be interested to hear some reviews and peoples experience using it. It sounds great and i know its what a lot of people have been waiting for, including myself.
There is a potential project going up i could have used it, but in the docs you say its not best used for subscription services.
Can you confirm payments are taken on our own sites on a static web page with SSL and not an overlay pop up like Foxy?
Stiggy - I downloaded it this afternoon and got a simple products list and cart up and running in no time at all, including a basic inventory control.
From what I’ve seen so far if you’re familar working with other 3rd party modules/tags you’ll have no problems. Obviously it takes a bit of time to lookup and implement various tags (of which there are loads!) to get your desired output, but, as Chris has stated a few times, it’s all based on the EE “logic” and way of doing things.
It’s looking good… just need a few UK friendly payment gateways now 😊
Missed these… sorry for the slow response.

We don’t have anything in the system currently to convert a user, or store recurring payments. We’re working on a subscription system though. Just a matter of time.

Yes. They’re taken on your own pages. You can (and should) use SSL for gateways that use direct integration. http://cartthrob.com/docs/tags_detail/https_redirect
You have control of the system. It’s not hosted, or offsite. It’s a one time fee. Weblogs store the data, an extension stores the settings. You use template tags to build your store the way you want. It’s not going to be perfect for everyone, or for everything, but it’s pretty dang awesome in most instances. And, it comes with an auto-install system that rocks. Makes it easy to get up and going fast.
