Google Map Fieldtype

I was just looking to see if there was a google map fieldtype available for 2.0 and came accross the example plugin - perfect! A few questions 1) Dont you need a google maps API key to work with the map? I’ve always needed on in the past 2) On the publish page, shouldn’t you be able to click a point on the map to add a marker & save it? Isn’t this the whole point of the fieldtype? If someone has time to add this functionality I’d be happy to pay for it.
