LinkLocker Module - Does this work

Okay so tonight’s mystery is LinkLocker, and if you’re reading Mark Bowen, yes, I have it installed in the correct FTP project area…
I have a file that I want to download using LinkLocker (1.4.2)
I’ve checked the link works okay naked (without LinkLocker) so that prooves the htaccess is okay.
I’ve tried the link with LinkLocker outside of an EE weblog, and inside of a weblog, and neither of them seem to work. When I click the link, I get a blank browser page - a long URL, and no download.
I’ve tried hard coding the full URL, but still a blank page.
Sample URL is

With mode=”page” I get the following message:

The error says that you have a 401 going on which means that for some reason the resource isn’t being found by LinkLocker. You don’t have any password protected site directory(ies) going on at all do you? Perhaps whilst you’re working on the site you have put on protection to stop anyone else seeing anything?

Gosh, no Mark. More a dig at my own ineptitude at times.
Thanks for the prompts, I shall start digging around to see if the resource is in a protected area.
