Tagger Lite is available now at http://www.devdemon.com
Tagger Basic allows you to tag all your Expression Engine entries. This powerful module allows you to add “Keywords” to your entries in a new simple integrated solution right within your entry tabs. This allows you to showcase content by tag and create tag clouds within your Expression Engine templates.
Simply choose the custom “Tags” tab and you can quickly choose “Most Used Tags”, “Insert Tags”, or “Tags Search”. You can also quickly view all your assigned tags and remove them with ease. Tagger Basic is a simple to use Tagging system that will let you or your customer easily add and remove keyword based tags.
Another simple to use Module for you designers. For Free!

EDIT - Module works great. Note to self. Make sure to upload the Themes folder!! 😊 😉 😊
Hiya,
Got my account now and just quickly tried out Tagger Lite but unless I’m doing something really silly I can’t seem to add any tags to any entries. I went to the Tags tab that I created and then typed in the name of a tag for an entry and pressed Enter like it says but it just saves the entry instead of placing the tag into the entry.
I did also install your Just Save extension which I was to believe would fix this but all I get it doing is saving the entry each time.
I’m using Safari on OSX on a localhost MAMP to test this out if that helps.
Best wishes,
Mark
Hello, Do you have jQuery on in the extensions? We tried to test these in multiple environments. So I am glad for the help. Regards, Brad
Hi Brad,
Yes the jQuery control panel extension is turned on. Anything I can do to help with narrowing this down I’ll do.
Best wishes,
Mark
Hello Mark,
I know you are good at this. Can you check in your CP header and see if you have more then one jQuery call.. My first guess is that jQuery isn’t working properly on the page since it is handling the “Return Key” when you insert a tag.
Also, what version of Safari are you using. I am on Safari now and it appears to work.
For jQuery I have:
http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.1/jquery.min.js http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.7.1/jquery-ui.min.js
Thank you for the help,
Brad

Just the calls to the jquery files that are setup in the jQuery control panel extension and then some scripts that are coming from the dev_demon themes folder.

V4.0.3 (5531.9)
For jQuery I have: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.1/jquery.min.js http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.7.1/jquery-ui.min.js
I had 1.3.2 for jquery. Tried setting it to 1.3.1 but still no luck I’m afraid. I did have FieldFrame installed and a couple of other small extensions which I tried completely disabling to see if that would work but unfortunately still submitting the form at the moment.
Also when it submits the form it stays on the Publish page but then the Tags tab disappears.
Best wishes,
Mark
Wow,
Ok. Something is definitely different about your install. I tried it on a clean install just now of 1.6.8 on the rackspace cloud and all went well.
Is something you could give us access to? I would really like our team to dig around and figure out what is going on.
We are working hard on Tagger Pro and want to make sure we nip this in the bud. Could you also email me at [email protected]. I have some other files I would like you to test.
Thanks!
Brad

Let me just quickly try a brand new install again, just in case.

Unfortunately not as this is on a localhost install. Could that perhaps be doing it?

I’ll send you an e-mail now, would love to help out with testing anything else you want a hand with.

Hi Brad,
Just installed a brand new download of ExpressionEngine 1.6.8 and this time noticed something a little weird. I had already placed the module and all required files such as the extension and language files into the folder then installed ExpressionEngine. I went to enable extensions and got the screen asking if I want to definitely do this so I clicked on the button to enable them but every time I was sent back to the extensions page and there weren’t any enable links next to the extensions.
I then deleted the whole of that install and the database too and started again, this time not placing the module and all of its files in and just installing ExpressionEngine, then I placed the files in and they installed fine.
Again though unfortunately no luck on the tags as they are still submitting the page. I have now tried both with and without the Just Save extension too so not really too sure what the problem is.
Best wishes,
Mark
Hello Mark,
I was able to get Tagger working out of the box…
1) Do you actually see the Publish Tab call “Tags” with the little icon?
2) What does your “URL to your Control Panel index page” say?
3) What is your actual URL? Do they match? Are you using any strange rewrites or other server settings?
4) What is your server configuration?
Thanks,
Brad
