Hello Everyone,
I’ve updated the markdown plugin with “Markdown Extra 1.2.4” – the latest version – and added a fix for block quotes. Every feature I’ve testing is working including blockquotes, tables, definition lists, images and links by reference, and all the basic stuff (of course).
I have not tested this plugin with EE 2.0 because I don’t have it yet.
Please refer to the PHP Markdown Extra Website for a full rundown of what this puppy can do.
Let me know if you have trouble and I’ll see if I can help.
I’ll see what I can do. I don’t think the conversion will take more than a few minutes once I finally set up an EE 2.0 development environment.
I should probably also mention that this is nothing but an update of the original, first-party markdown plugin by Paul Burdick.
This has actually been very interesting timing. I made the original PHP Markdown Extra plugin for EE (or, updated Paul’s original Markdown plugin), and was working on updating it for 2.0 before I saw this update on eeinsider.com. I now have a 2.0-ready version on Github, so anybody can feel free to download, test it, and fork the project:
http://github.com/akuzemchak/markdown_extra_ee
This should work almost identical to the original Markdown plugins, but I have actualy removed the encode_ee_tags attribute on this version. I should clarify that I do not consider myself an EE addon developer, so I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to fix any bugs… but you can fork the project on Github if you like!
