Recursive Image population

I am not sure where this is coming from, but I assume it has something to do with image sizer. After adding images to a template, I prepared an SVN commit only to realize my images directory is not rooted beyond belief. For instance, I have images such as:

images/landing/thumbs/Images/thumbs/Images/thumbs/Images/highlight.png

I have file uploads for this template going to images/landing, but I have no idea what is causing this recursive add. I assume it is the image size plugin. Has anyone seen this before?
