MX Multi Language Labels is little addon which allow to create multi language labels for custom fields.
I hope that this extension helps you to make your CP UI friendlier for users with different language preference.
Enjoy!
If you will have any issue or bugs or request for new functionality, feel free to send me a note and I will help you ASAP.
Well, installation and enabling was a simple. I just don’t get how to actually configure the plugin. What are those blank fields in the middle for and how do I add other languages? Thanks for your fast reply and support. 😊
Edit: the yellow “Examples” fieldbox is actually empty on the download page!?
ok. I understand - the extension creates the fields(where you can write down the label for custom field) for languages base on your language folder (in /system/). So if you need to add additional languages – just upload the additional EE language packs . I will add it to doc’s soon.
OK, figured that I had to upload the language pack file. Ok, another thing sorted out, but I am not done yet. 😉
Now when I go to the Extension I am presented with “Deutsch” and “English”. Under each language there are the three default fields (Summary, Body, Extended). I expect the Extension to work as following: I translate the standard field, e.g. “Summary” to “Zusammenfassung”, change the CP’s language to German (My Account -> Personal Settings -> Localization Settings) then go over to the “Edit” tab and the fields labels are presented with the translated word (in this case “Zusammenfassung” instead of “Summary”).
Unfortunately that’s not happening. Or am I getting something terrible wrong?
Info: I am on a brand-new EE installation and I noticed that the checkbox “Default Labels” in the Extension settings stays always checked no matter how often I uncheck it.
