Hi,
The new extension Weblog Order enables you to reorder your weblogs into some logical sequence. This sequence will be respected in following places:
1) Publish tab dropdown 2) Edit tab dropdown 3) Publish page list of weblogs 4) Edit page search form selectbox displaying list of weblogs.
Weblog Order extension is not compatible with Cocoaholic’s Edit Menu extension, so before installing Weblog Order you should deinstall Edit Menu.
You are a genius!
Just to clarify for anyone else, this does create an edit drop down menu, so it replaces Cocoaholic’s Edit Menu extension and allows for ordering of the weblogs so that they match in both the Publish drop down and replacement Edit drop down.
There are now arrows in Admin › Weblog Administration › Weblog Management to change the order.
Hi,
I released version 1.1.1 of Weblog Order extension.
In this release several bugs were fixed:
1) Weblog Order not playing well with other extensions which modify Edit tab’s search form;
2) displaying unneeded “All” option in Edit tab’s search form when logged-in member has the right to post into one weblog;
3) not displaying right weblog as selected on Edit tab’s search results page.
I found one more bug. If a member group only has permission to access one weblog, without Weblog Order if you click the “publish” tab directly without selecting the single items in the dropdown, it will assign a new publish page to that one weblog.
With Weblog Order installed, when you click the word “Publish” in the publish tab (see attached screenshot), you get a publish page, but at the top, the weblog is listed as if there were a selection to make, like when you click the tab when you have access to multiple weblogs, but instead the publish page is not assigned to any weblog. So it will not save. The author will write in it and try to save and be unable to save anything.
Thanks! I installed both the Weblog Order update as well as the Tabbee update. Now the new entry for “Authors” with only one weblog assigned saves properly.
There’s one weird thing happening and I checked to see if Tabbee was doing it, but it happens with Tabbee disabled too. If you click “Publish” instead of choosing a weblog from the dropdown, it will automatically open the “Date” tab. If I hide “Date” using Tabbee, it’ll properly open the “Publish Form” tab, but I think I need to keep it available.
If I select a weblog from the Publish menu, it won’t open with the “Date” tab open either.
Pure madness, I tells ya. 😉
Hi smartpill,
There’s one weird thing happening and I checked to see if Tabbee was doing it, but it happens with Tabbee disabled too.
I was able to reproduce this behavior. With Cocoaholic’s Tab Forward extension enabled clicking on “Publish” opens “Date” tab, with this extension disabled “Publish Form” tab is opened.
