I have “Automatically turn URLs and email addresses into links?” set for a weblog and it’s working for some URLs and email addresses but not all, and I can’t determine why. The URLs not working (which begin with http://) directly follow email addresses that do.

ExpressionEngine 1.6.8 Build: 20090723

Assistance is much appreciated. Thanks!

Can you give us a link, show us where it’s happening? You might also want to upgade to the latest build, if only to rule out file corruption.

I didn’t want to publicly post the dev site link so sent you a PM with more info. Thanks for your help.

When you take out the email address, does it work? Could it be the tilde in the URL, or some other chracters? When you use http://example.com, does that work?

I previously tried removing the email address and the URL still didn’t work. I just tried again with the same result. I also tried the http://example.com url and it doesn’t work either. None of the URLs that have issues seem to have tildes or other special characters.

Hi Azular-

Do you have any extensions running? Also, you mentioned some are working and some are not… Are any urls working? Or just email addresses.

I am running a number of extensions, including FieldFrame, Gypsy, and others.

The “text area” custom field containing URLs works fine. The TinyMCE WYSIWYG custom field (set to “none” for default formatting) is the one having problems, with the email address converting fine but not the URL, no matter where it’s placed.

Azular, what version(s) of TinyMCE are you using?

Unfortunately we don’t provide direct support for third party addons. Moving to Extensions for additional community support.
