Hi Benjamin, Just came across this plugin and have found it to work great, thanks. I was hoping I could avoid having to turn off the auto-links at the weblog level, and instead, just use the EE Typography plugin to turn off the auto generated link URLs for just the video link field, but that didn’t seem to work unfortunately. No big deal though. This is really minor, but any chance you could make the {service} tag output the text using the proper case? i.e. YouTube instead of youtube? Would look nicer if I outputted it, without needing to use the replace plugin! 😉 Also, this would make a great fieldtype for FieldFrame I think! Thanks.
Hi and thanks for your feedback !
The problem with the Auto Links is that ExpressionEngine seems to turn URLs into a link before the plugin parameters are parsed and the quotes added for the link result in a templating error.
If someone has some kind of idea of a fix, I agree this would be very nice for the plugin ! I heard you for the service variable, I think I’ll split it in two variables, service_key and service_name. This is for the next minor release.
And I can’t say a thing about some kind of fieldtype ! (yet)
Thanks again for your great and useful feedback !
I’m getting nothing but a blank screen. why is that? my EE is 1.6.8 - using single tag like in documentation ..already set the “automatically turn url’s into links” to off
Could you please give more details on how you set up your templates and weblog (and the video field) so I can help you better. Do you get any PHP or Templates error ?
