<sigh> luckily for me, I’m trying to configure EE on an IIS host…</sigh>

I’m having some problems getting extensions like Mark Huot’s (wicked) File to upload. I read this page in the wiki:

http://expressionengine.com/wiki/File_Upload_Extensions_and_Windows_IIS/

then contacted the host. Currently, the phpinfo in cPanel shows this:

Open_basedir :  "no value"
upload_tmp_dir : "c:\php\upload";

I sent a link to the article plus this information to the host - and they responded by creating a writeable directory on the host.

My question is (as part of a process of elimination) whether or not the settings for open_basedir and the upload_tmp_dir the cause (my guess is yes…). We’re operating on a shared host too, so I’m not sure how much of the php.ini we’re going to be allowed to modify.

Failing the above, can anyone suggest a workaround? thanks in advance for any assistance SWK

Let’s take any extensions out of the mix for the time being. Can you configure a upload directory for a weblog, and simply try to upload to that? Say to: images/uploads/ you’d need the uploads dir to be writeable. Can you try that & let us know if you receive an error?

okay, since the File extension is third party, we can’t officially support it, so you will need to talk with the developer to work on that. I would be happy to move this down to the extensions forums for you if you wish.

Thanks,
