Magpie RSS Parser: how to deal with special characters

I’m trying to display an rss feed (from a different EE install).

The feed itself has titles with characters such as: “ So I thought it’d import clean, but it seems to display the entity itself (not use proper code for it). My charset=iso-8859-1 and that doesn’t play nice.

I know there’s convert_entities=”y” (or n) but setting that didn’t seem to help.

Any ideas what I can set to get these characters to play nice?
