I wonder if using EEvent Helper will do what I’m looking for.
I’ve noticed a few irregularities on our church event weblog. The times of events seem to be out across 3 profiles, my superadmin account, my wifes publisher account and general web user. One is an hour late, the other an hour early and the other on time. Can the localisation override work on the entry time?
I just upgraded from an old version and now get this error when acessing the control panel. I can’t get in to disable it 😛
Any ideas?

Eevent Helper could be of help here, as it does sound like “localized” date fields are your problem. Tough, instructing your users to set date fields to “fixed” would also do it.

You’ll have to remove all rows containing ‘eevent_helper’ from your exp_extensions table in the database, then re-anable it afterwards. ALways a good idea to disable an extensions before upgrading!
I’m using EEvent helper 1.2.2; I’ve set the ‘Choose an End Date field’ to None - but EE somehow still set the End Date to 24hrs after the Start Date field.
Setting the expiration date to 23:59 the date of the event is Eevent Helper’s primary feature. Currently, it can’t be disabled via settings.
Am really enjoying this extension - V useful!
Found one slightly odd thing though: unless I have all my admin accounts set to have Daylight Saving Time on, every time am entry is saved, the date fields move back one day (both start and end dates). I’m guessing it’s something to do with EEvent Helper setting the time to midnight, then the difference between daylight saving/normal time pushes it into another day.
Any ideas?
Frank – this may have to do with the “honor DST settings” option instead. Not sure if there’s a way around this – Eevent Helper basically mimics the action of manually entering “00:00” as the time in the date box (or 23:59 in the case of the expiration date).
I always turn off the “honor DST” option as a first step after install.
