Textile: line breaks in headings?

A client quite reasonably wants to be able to control widows in headings (h2, h3, etc.) by introducing a single carriage return where she desires the line break, like this:
h3. I want the line to break here and not somewhere else
That technique would work fine in a paragraph, introducing an HTML break at the carriage return. However, it does nothing in a heading.
Can anyone help me figure out how to patch the plugin code to insert breaks in headings? Thanks.
I too am looking for a way to control orphans in my title fields. I’ve been using some non-breaking spaces in certain things I’m formatting, but I’m hoping there’s a better alternative to having 7 words on the first line and then 1 word on the second of a long title.
