MX Mobile Detect is a small and simple plugin detect is template was request by Mobile Device or no. It’s just an initial release. So that feature requests & bugs report welcome.

Place the following tag in your templates (it would be better if your place it close to the header);

{exp:mobile_detect location="http://m.site.com/"}

“location” - is your url for mobile devices for redirect

Or you can use that way (without redirection(at this moment)):

{exp:mobile_detect}
{if mobile}
Is mobile device
{/if}
{/exp:mobile_detect}

download

Does not seem to recognize an iPod Touch as mobile. Is this intended? Blackberry worked though.

You might modify the plug-in by adding

"ipod",

in the array after iphone.

I’m not sure if that will work because I have no ipod touch to test with.

I don’t see any problem using MX Mobile Devices Detect with MSM. Plugins usually more dependent from template than from site.

Added this to my homepage. Works great! Did have a question though…

What would be the best way to switch back to full site? In other words, if you have been redirected to a mobile site and have a “VIEW STANDARD SITE” link, how would you tell it not to redirect… hope that makes sense.

Any plans to make an EE 2.0 version? I could use this on a 2.0 site we are developing now, if you needed a place to test it I be happy to do that 😊
