Hi,
I have this problem too. I also use a googlemail account. I first developed the website on a Amazon EC2 instance (PHP Version 5.3.1). There it worked. Now I moved the site to our hoster (strato.de, PHP Version 5.2.17) and it is the same problem as described in this thread. I tried another Email (web.de) and got success on our hosted site.

Hi Sue,
yes googlemail in combination with another web server. On my EC2 instance googlemail worked.

I know it’s not an ideal solution, but will using the other account work for now while we see what’s going on?
