    this is the script i use in “moblog” template… feel free to change it because i’m a newbie…

    {exp:moblog:check silent="false" which="moblog"}
    {field name="extended" format="xhtml"}
    {text}
    {/field}
    {/exp:moblog:check}

    Have you assigned a custom field as Sue suggested? That would have to be done via the backend.

    You will have to assign at least one custom field to your Moblog. See the docs for details (“Channel Entry Settings”).

    I have assigned a custom field to the moblog. and set the default field at moblog
    the moblog template in the moblog module is:

    {field name="moblog" format="xhtml"}
    {text}
    {/field}

    {images}
    {file}
    {/images}

    the tag in the molog template page is:

    {exp:moblog:check silent="false" which="moblog"}

    {/exp:moblog:check}

    Still the message:
    unable to connect to mail server.

    What is going wrong here? i’m stuck on this.
    You have my login information for this site so i hope you can help me a bit further with this?

    [Mod Edit: Removed URLs for security reasons]

    Thx

    Hello,

    I’ve been working on the site: http://www.cmm-online.nl/cms
    and with regards to the moblog page i now get 2 different messages each time i refresh the page:
    http://www.cmm-online.nl/cms/index.php/CMM/Moblog

    -message 1 after refresh is:
    ‘Moblog is current’

    -message 2 after refresh is:
    Unable to connect to email server

    Moblog was successfully checked
    Emails Retrieved: 0
    Entries Added: 0
    Attachments Uploaded: 0
    Pings Sent: 0

    I still don’t know what the error/message means, what to do now, how i get this thing to work?

    I’ve send a mail from my account with subject: ‘moblog: title’ and than a ‘bodytekst’

    Grt Niels

    Niels, it has to be something unique to your server. I created a second moblog using login details from one of my test moblog sites (which works on a third EE install). I get the same message about not being able to connect to the mail server.

    At this point, I’m going to escalate the issue. Thanks in advance for your patience.

    Do you mean ‘something unique’ to my e-mail server or ‘something unique’ to my webserver where EE is installed on?
    Can it be a permission problem (the same as with my previous issue with images)

    thx for the help so far.

    Grts

    Hard to tell. It’s not your email server, since I tested it using a server on MediaTemple, and I can successfully check that email server on an EngineHosting install.

    I’ve escalated this to the next tier of support.
