Ah, thanks to you Leslie “Macho” Camacho, AKA El Presidente.  And of course thanks also to the lovely director of community services, give a hearty “GOOD BOY” and a scratch behind the ears to Elka for me.  While you are at it, give a good scratch behind the ears to Rick and “the Derek’s” as well.  You all did a great job!

Congratulations! I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time, a monumental milestone for EllisLabs and for those of us who have EE at the cornerstone of our livelihood.

    Congratulations on the launch, guys!

Afraid I found a bug with the new site though - someone’s commented out the rest of Leslie’s hair…  :ahhh:

Please move this where it should go in the new forums, or send it along to the patch up crew and delete from here; thanks.

I’m guessing this is ghost content:
    http://expressionengine.com/downloads/details/photo_gallery_module/
    http://expressionengine.com/downloads/details/comment_and_trackback_modules/

Many of the theme/template links in the sitemap are broken:
    http://expressionengine.com/templates/themes/category/site_themes/

“New content here!” need for all 3 of the addon pages:
    http://expressionengine.com/downloads/addons/category/plugins/

Most of the site URIs have a trailing slash, but some sections like “Overview” don’t on sub pages links. Also the site’s content is pretty inconsistent when it comes to the use of trailing slashes. (does it matter? eh! I don’t want to go down that path tonight).

When I submitted the contact form (to report a closing tag issue with a hidden field in the form) I was taken to a interim page, then to a 404. Your “thank you” page URL might need to be reset or something.

The FAQ link in the content at this URL 404s: http://expressionengine.com/affiliates/

    <disclaimer>I’m a huge fan of underscores</disclaimer>

I was kind of surprised to see the underscore in /user_guide/, but it is consistent with the rest of the site. After we did some testing about a year or two back, we’ve gone to dashes only in the URIs of all our new sites. The engines seem to do better for us with dashes.

Here, run your own test with these two examples in Google and Bing:

    dashing_good_seo_starts_in_the_uri

    dashing-good-seo-starts-in-the-uri

Bing can’t even figure out what ads to run with the underscored example when we test from here.

I’m not much of an SEO guy, just found the underscores on the new EE site a curiosity.

Anyway, enjoyed my first visit to the new site and especially the new software. We’ve updated 2 sites already and I’ll be doing more later today. The updates from Beta were both smooth as can be.

    Congrats on the launch!

Congrats on the release guys, the new site’s great too. This couldn’t be better timing for me as I’ve got a few projects starting in the next couple of weeks.

Now to update my 2.0 installs and test my addons…

One question, does this 2.1 now have the patch to convert any gallery modules?
