This looks great! Will users have the ability to invite their facebook friends to join when they register/login?

Wanted to add our voice of support for this effort. Keep up the good work!

How is the work on fab-ee going? Getting closer to a release date yet?
Would love to see fabb-ee on my site soon 😊

Hi Munno,
Work is stalled at the moment. This is only because of other commitments that require our attention. I’ll update this thread and the fabEE blog as soon as possible.
Cheers

any update ?

Hi,
Well, yes. We’ve still been mostly otherwise engaged though I have done a little bit of work recently. The most interesting update is that publishing direct into the FB stream instead of just the user wall seems to be possible. This requires that we code up an initial set of comment templates (which we’ve done). Next job when we have time is more testing to confirm that this works consistently and as expected.

I’m really interested in fabEE (or any other easy way of integrating Facebook Connect with EE) but the fabEE website is currently offline. Would anyone be able to fill me in on the latest update?
I’m currently building a site for a musician who has a strong presence on Facebook so something like this would be a huge benefit.

Hi,
The fabEE site is offline while I work on some more stuff (in between other work). Development is continuing. There haven’t been many updates because there isn’t much of any general interest to say. I’ll update (re-open) fabEE as soon as I can.
Cheers

Brilliant, thanks for the update Dry! I’ll keep an eye on the forums for future news.

I think the lack of interest comes from the lack of product. Why don’t you release the functional portions of fabEE and see what comes back. Facebook is only growing and connect is key for community based sites.

Hi eyevariety,
In fact, fabEE is in closed beta right now. I understand that it’s been a long wait and I seriously underestimated how long it would take to get something working properly. However, I think that you’d much rather that something functional was released rather than something half-baked.
Cheers

Thanks for the fast reply, I am anxious to see the results. I have done some basic implementations but would love to work with something deeper.
