EDIT: When running the Install Wizard, if you want a completely blank slate, DO NOT install the default theme. Then you can start creating channels, categories, field groups, fields, templates, et cetera…all from scratch.

Hi all,

Just started playing around with a test version of the latest EE (6.2.7) Got it installed successfully, and wanted to test some stuff out. Went to edit the fields for the default site(s), and…I can’t change the field type. There’s the “Choose Wisely” dropdown, but I can’t make it…drop…down.

I is there a way to install EE WITHOUT installing that default site and all associated fields, categories, et cetera?

I know that I could just delete all existing “default” sites, template groups, field groups, categories, and all that malarkey. But I don’t want to do that. I want my own categories, fields, et cetera to start being numbered with “1” and to be numbered in a particular order. There is no functional reason for wanting this, but it’s still important to me.

So was there an option to NOT install this with any default site and I just missed it?

I see you found the reason, you are correct, there is an option to create the default site when you first install EE (or ignore it).
