New EE6 Install Issues

How Do I?

I ran the ee_wizard and the only issues that popped up are cURL & ZipArchive. I installed both, restarted Apache, tried many different approaches - but for whatever reason, neither of those things are showing up. I am not sure what else to do.

Running PHP8

Thanks in advance.

Do those modules show if you dump your phpinfo() ? If not, they may not be enabled.

This is all that shows up. I ran some commands that were supposed to enable them; apparently they didn’t work. Maybe you will have some better suggestions than what I found online…?

Appreciate the help!

I stopped Apache, then uncommented the curl extension line in my php.ini file, restarted Apache and it still isn’t showing up…

Still looking for help in other places - but keep checking back here.

I will update here if/when I finally get it working.

I checked and double checked to make sure I edited the correct php.ini file - and that my edits were saved. Restarted Apache … still no dice. Is there another file I need to edit?

I’ve also checked several times and cURL has been installed… I am completely out of ideas as to what to do.

Ok, I think I found the issue — but have no idea how to fix?

PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library ‘curl’ (tried: /usr/lib/php/20200930/curl (/usr/lib/php/20200930/curl: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory), /usr/lib/php/20200930/curl.so (/usr/lib/php/20200930/curl.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)) in Unknown on line 0

I gave up on trying to do this with a DigitalOcean droplet. Why cURL would not work out of the box on my LAMP install is beyond me…

I ended up just going over to A2hosting.com and used Softaculous to do a one click EE install. Works great… Definitely worth going that route and not have the headaches!

Annette, sorry I couldn’t get back in to help yesterday, but glad you figured something out. Setting up servers can be pretty straightforward, except when it’s not. :/

No problem, it all worked out in the end. 😊

“Setting up servers can be pretty straightforward, except when it’s not. ?”.

Isn’t that the truth?! ???
