The plugin Cron Email:

https://expressionengine.com/add-ons/cron-email

It says it requires the cron add-on. But that is not a real cron task, but a fake one triggered by hits on a webpage.

What happens if I want to manually call the template or with a regular cron? Is this possible with this add-on or it will only work with the fake cron add-on and cannot be triggered by any other means?

It requires the base Cron add-on because the Corn Email add-on uses code from the base Cron add-on. So you’ll have to have both installed. How you trigger your template is up to you. So you can setup a real cron job on your server to curl a template and trigger the Cron Email tag whenever you want. Just use something like second ="*" minute="*" hour="*" and it will trigger the email every time you hit that page.
