Hey guys.

So I put the EE3 folder in my domain root. so its www.domain.com/EE3/index.php…..

This is before I realized that the index file in EE3 is my main page….

What’s the best way to move my site to www.domain.com? I don’t want to mess up any of the references in EE or the database or anything.

Obviously, I’m fairly new to this whole web development thing. I’ve been at it a month or so.

Thanks,

-Mo

PS and is there a way to turn off the website while I’m working on it so it shows a “coming soon” page or whatever?

It should be sufficient to simply move all your files up a level (..) and change the paths in the control panel accordingly. Really not a big deal.

Ok that was pretty straightforward, thanks. Just fixing my links now.

I have one issue though, in the CP i can’t seem to change my admin.php link from what it initially was.

Like, I type the new URL where it’s located and press save and it says “success” but it doesn’t actually change.
