hey Everybody!
i finally upgraded my EE installation from 1.72 to 2.10.1 and am in the midst of cleaning up all the leftovers from the great change.
i have a file field that isn’t responding to a change in properties like others have.
i have been changing file fields from the old “text area” to the “rich text” type.
i have changed over at least a dozen of them or so… until i got to one and gave me this error:
“An Error Was Encountered The data you submitted did not pass our security check. If you did not intend to submit this form, please click here and no settings will be changed.”
also, it won’t let me change any properties in the field without the error including radio buttons require, searchable, and so on.
otherwise, there seems to be nothing out of the ordinary for this field and it functions, but it holds the main text for that channel, so i can’t delete it.
any suggestions?
😉 I just took my pecan pie out of the oven, but I’m still here!
Mmmmmm - pie!
Looks to me like either the field lable or more likely the field instructions are triggering the xss filter. And that sort of error would be consistent with it only happening on some of the fields.
Spot anything vaguely funky in the label or directions? Could even be an invisible character got in there? If you can’t spot it, you can always try process of elimination- simplify label and instructions- see if it saves. Then add back what you need until you hit something that triggers the filter.
That help?
