Hi, all. New to the EE scene and hoping someone can give me some direction.
First, I have researched this. I’ve read a number of EE threads about this, as well as others.
So, I’m running the latest version of EE and I WAS getting the error message above whenever I tried to upload a PNG image. Eventually I found that it was tied to the PHP install that came with OS X 10.10 (the local host I’m developing on). I installed a different built of PHP last night and it worked – temporarily. I have changed nothing, not even rebooted the system, and yet again it doesn’t work.
I’ve tried disabling XSS.
I’ve tried switching from forward-slashes to back-slashes.
I’ve tried re-synching the file upload destinations.
I’ve tried re-building the file upload destinations.
Folders and _thumb folders are all 777.
I’ve installed a new build of PHP featuring GD with PNG support.
Can anyone help me out?
So, I’m still in the same boat.
I had done so much to the system that I bit the bullet and did a full fresh install of the OS, SQL and EE.
Still no progress with PNG.
Are there any plans to make the thumbnail generation an optional feature? It would be so much more convenient to be able to turn it off.
