Hi. I’m trying to install two new modules - Backup Pro(ish) 1.2.1 and Securit:ee 1.4.2 - to our EE 2.7.2 installation. The two modules have been downloaded and I’ve taken note of the structure inside each directory:
securit:ee > system > expression engine > third party > securit:ee securit:ee > themes > third party > securit:ee
backup_proish > system > expression engine > third party > backup_proish backup_proish > themes > third party > backup_proish
So, having moved each of these into the correct “third party” folders (as instructed: “Upload the extracted folder to your ExpressionEngine third party folder usually located at: /system/expressionengine/third_party/”), I then attempt to activate them through the Add-Ons management page (also, as instructed: “Navigate to your Add-Ons management page and choose Modules…Select Backup Pro(ish)/sSecurit:ee from the list and click install”)
Unfortunately, I cannot see either module to activate in the list.
Is there a specific permission that has to be in place on these directories?
Thanks in advance!
You need to upload only the folder from inside unzipped set that is in third party folder. Not all. So ignore the structure and upload the folder from third party folder to your installed one.
I’m sorry. I didn’t make it clear in my original post. I did upload the folders from inside the unzipped set…so, the path to the folders is just system > expression engine > third party > securit:ee/backup_proish…and same for the themes inside the zipped files.
Ok. Well then that’s a bit odd issue you have. There is no specific permission related requirements to get add-ons installed that i know. I have done 3rd party add-on installations without never having the issue you have, but only when files didnt locate in the right place.
Dunno if there is a bug in your EE version?(do not think so but I always upgrade to latest version if that is possible).
