Our search form posts to a template with a tag for processing. In the 2.7 that throws an error “The action you have requested is invalid.” even though we didn’t post to an action id.

<form action="catalog/search" method="post">

Is this type of ‘post to template’ behavior no longer allowed in 2.7?

You can still post to a template, but yes it needs to include an XID. In the case of search, I would recommend allowing xid reuse in the receiving code.
