Hello,
I am having trouble figuring out a workaround to prevent the Invalid GET Data message when using a Google Analytics UTM string in the URL. Using EE v2.3.1. I tried creating a redirect, and that didn’t work. I also tried encoding the URL, and that did not work either. I have read several forum posts about this issue, but there does not seem to be a solution. Is there a workaround for this issue? If so, how would I implement it? Thanks!
Hi Kelly,
I’m sorry that you are having trouble with this!
While we don’t directly support this kind of integration, I think it’s worth investigating.
Can you give me an example of the URL you are passing into ExpressionEngine? Where are you trying to pass the URL to?
If you can give me a description of what you want to accomplish, I’m sure I can offer a solution.
Cheers,
Hi Dan,
Thanks for the response. Below is an example of the URL.
http://www.mysite.com/?__utma=1.444444444.333333333.1111111111.22222222.2&__utmb=1.1.10.555555555&__utmc=1&__utmx=-&__utmz=1.555555555.1.1.utmcsr=(direct)|utmccn=(direct)|utmcmd=(none)&__utmv=-&__utmk=99999999999where http://www.mysite.com is the site with the Expression Engine 2.3.1 installation. The referring site is an external, non-EE site.
I would appreciate any help or insight you may be able to provide!
Hi kellycook,
Thank you for the information.
As Dan mentioned, this is a bit outside of support and based on the URL, I am really not sure what we can do to help.
I am going to move this to Development and Programming. I think you will get a response that will be very helpful!
Thank you,
