Hi all
We’re working on a site that requires a grid of prices. We’ve created a plugin that displays the fields in a grid format (3 columns across, several rows down). The problem is that it isn’t a very easy grid to look at…
Is there a way (when in the Publish layout) to apply specific styling to make this grid easier to understand? For example, column headings, alternate row shading.. basically all the kind of stuff you would do with a regular table.
I really need to make it more user friendly - for my own sanity as well as the client…!
Thanks in advance 😊
We tried one plugin but found it only let us do column headings whereas we need to give each row a heading too as opposed to just being numbered 1, 2, 3 etc.
We also need a static number of rows and columns to be there rather than them being created on the fly as there is always going to be a required number of fields to fill in.
Oh really? thats handy to know… is there anyway of adding a heading a specific the beginning of the row though instead of just the standard 1, 2, 3?
As I say we’ve got the grid layout (3 columns x 20 rows or something) but I just want to present it nicer with headings on both columns and rows so that it’s easier to refer to.
Surely there must be a way to edit the publish layout view to do this…? looks hopeful
Thanks for your help so far guys 😊
Michelle
I’ve uploaded a couple of screenshots to better illustrate what I’m talking about…
One is the view in the Module settings, all nicely laid out in a table with headings etc. The other is the publish layout view where ultimately the client is going to have to input this data - the layout isn’t as clear and easily gets confusing.
What we’re trying to achieve is a view in the publish layout more akin to the view in the module layout. That way it’ll be easier to read and keep up to date.
