Running CI app behind EE

Hi, I recently developed a working app in CI and now I want to develop a salesy website in EE that allows you to login to proceed to the app built in CI. I’d like to avoid modifying EE to the point that I can’t easily update it later.

What’s the process for this?

Some issues I’m wrestling with: 1. Is is better to use the CI attached to EE for the app or to use a separate installation? What’s safe to share between the two? 2. How can I use login and authentication functions that I developed in CI from EE? 3. Better to use the same database or two different ones?

Hi plnii,

I’m afraid this is outside the scope of Technical Support and so I’m going to move this thread to the Development & Programming forums for you so that hopefully other users that have done this sort of thing before can maybe lend a helping hand here.

Thanks,

Mark

Nevermind. Support said this would likely require me to develop an EE add-on for my CI app, which looks to be quite a bit of effort. Given that I can manage the pages in CI, I’m just going to do that.
