Hi,

We have a EE developer server and a EE production server. We do not want do same process in the dev and prod(duplication action) when we create a channel entry. We want to have some good way for migrating content - individual pieces of content, such as channel entries, with pictures, etc) from DEV to PROD. Right now, we seem to be able to copy an entire site, but not a channel, or just one entry in a channel.

Do you have any good idea and suggestion.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

This is a scenario that many a developer has had to tackle. The general consensus seems to be to have your files in a version control system. That way you can make changes and add features in DEV, then when those are ready, push those changes to PROD. For databases however, you have to manage those somewhat manually exporting your DEV and importing into PROD.

In order to get the broadest insight possible, I’m going to move this thread into Development and Programming.

Cheers,
