Hello:

I’m estimating on a project right now and I’m wondering if the following workflow is possible in EE. The concept is similar to a professional Craigslist, where users can “claim” projects/jobs posted by an administrator.

ADMIN 1. Admin creates a project 2. Admin adds entries (tasks) to project 3. Admin assigns “skill-level” to project and/or entries 4. Admin posts project and tasks to site

MEMBER 1. Logged-in member views project 2. Logged-in member views tasks 3. Logged-in member “claims” task as their assignment, pending skill level, by pressing button on frontend 4. System associates member with project/task 5. System notifies administrator via email 6. Task is shown as “claimed by…” to other users

I did some digging and can’t find any modules that can do this offhand, but I’m wondering if custom development on EE can do this. If so, can anyone point me in the right direction for doing this?

Thanks very much, –Nate.

Aha, well what I have managed to understand of the current Member and ‘Post’ relationship is that it is one way. So I can’t manage to interfere or modify anything in the member profile.

If you can work out things with a simple custom member field with a skill-level select drop down, this seems doable and not too hard.

There’s the excellent Entry Access plugin which might be useful too, but it is also goes in one direction only.
