How is it to develop add-ons for ee2?

Hello, Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but as an ee user and not an add-on dev, I am curious to hear how the dev of add-on is going for ee2. Seems like there is a rather long dev period for some of the big addons and an absence of some other biggies, like some sort of publish flow add-on. Is it because building addons with CI is more complicated (which may lead to greater add-on functionality)? Or is there a shortage of CI devs? Or is it just that it’s only been out since what, July? So maybe things are progressing normally. Thoughts?

It does seem like when an ee2 update is released, add-ons frequently need changes because ee has changed. But maybe that’s just what I happen to see.

Just curious, not trying to be a smartass.
