Through the front end of the website, is it possible to output a template programmatically?

I have a return url set from a webservice, such as www.mysite.com/?ACT=33, which will be used to display success messages.

I would like to use a template for these messages.

Any pointers appreciated.

Yes. It is possible. You can do it from in a module. Also take a look at the template class and the fetch_and_parse method - I think that is the method name.
