What databases tables are updated when the publish form is submitted?

Hrm, my last post title didn’t seem to attract much attention so I’m going to try again.

It appears that the exp_channel_titles and exp_channel_data are the only two tables that are updated when the publish form is submitted. Can anybody confirm that this correct?
