Integrating a fusebox app into an EE site.

I’m charged with building out a site in EE, which I have a little experience with, that will include an existing fusebox application. The pages in the fusebox app don’t need to be closely integrated with EE, and in fact they COULD exist entirely independent from EE (although that’s obviously less than ideal), but I wonder if anyone could give me some pointers about how much integration I should attempt.

My skills are mostly in the front end area, but I understand php and I’m not afraid of getting my hands a little dirty.
