Custom tab : check if new entry or update in publish_data_db()

Hello,

I’m currently working on a module development and I was wondering if there’s any way to check if data posted is an insert or an update in the publish_data_db() function.

Shall I check in DB if entry_id already exists or is there a simple way to do it ?
