Converting CodeIgniter Libraries / Helpers / Models for use with EE

So I have a whole lot of libraries / helpers and models I would like to use in EE but have no idea on what’s the best way of converting them into something I can use for EE.

For example, to begin with, I have functions grouped together as a helper in CodeIgniter. I added and created a plugin with these functions in it. but I’m not sure it’s even working as I got an error saying

system/expressionengine/libraries/Functions.php(639) : eval()'d code  on line 15

for some reason, EE is looking for my function in Functions.php ? (if I read that right).

Any suggestions on how to convert these files for EE use would be appreciated.

thanks, Jayson

There’s no docs or tutorial for converting from CI to EE. :(

Hi, Jayson. We don’t provide direct support for creating your own plugins. Normally these kinds of questions go in the appropriate add-ons section. CarvingCode is right, there’s not a lot out there about converting between CI and EE.

There’s interest in this from the community. Unfortunately, EllisLab has not yet responded. I’m sure they will once they get MojoMotor out the door.
