FLV Media Player doesn’t do anything!

I’ve posted a few times on this one and have had no response, and it’s really frustrating. :(

I’ve installed FLV Media Player 4.5 to insert a FLV on a page, but it doesn’t do anything. The plug-in manager says it’s installed and swfobject.js is in the HTML head, but the code is just considered text:

{exp:flvplugin playerpath="{site_url}scripts/player.swf" file="https://ellislab.com/asset/images/team-photo/luvern-whotv.flv" playernumber="{entry_id}" width="400" height="302"}
<div id="player{entry_id}"></div>

I’ve fought this a few days and nothing will get it to act like anything other than text.

I am afraid this is an issue with a third-party plugin that we can’t support. Let me move this thread to “Plugins” for you.

Jeremy,

have you got a link to the page where you are using it?

JHD, it’s working now. I was too much of a newbie to realize the code goes in the template (not the entry itself). I assumed users could place a video wherever they wanted with the code.

JHD, thanks for following up. I knew you had developed this so I was hoping you would give some advice. I got it to function properly and it works very well for the customer! Thanks to you and everyone else for your support during my first EE installation. I have a couple more in the works for other clients. 😊
