Member Management in forums

Been searching on this topic and I see some post on it, but I am not sure if its been answered.

I know there is amember and foxee, but I could not tell from there sites if it works like I want it to.

What I have done so far: - Education site where people can sign up for different classes - Individual signs up for one class (20 different classes offered - but they can only take one class at a time.) - Go through paypal - Returns to thank you page

What I am not getting and this may be where amember or foxee comes in?

• Automatic email goes out to individual with access to a very specific forum board
• individual can only see that forum board

I have the boards set up, have simple commerce set up but I realized that the signup and auto email sends them to a the general board. Am I missing something somewhere or is this where I need to get a third party plug-in.
