I’m having troubles getting NSM Publish Plus 1.1.1 playing nicely on my install. EE 1.6.7, PHP 5.2.6, testing on FF 3.5.5. I applied core hack, and installed per instructions. Notifications are working. Here is the issue, it doesn’t matter if I’m logged in as Super Admin or Editor & all blog areas have versioning enabled.
When creating an entry (and save as draft with note) everything works as expected (I can upload files), however there is SQL printed onscreen at the top on submit (debugging is turned off, dev extensions disabled and this happens for Editor as well).
However, on subsequent edits no matter what the workflow state or publish status I am unable to upload additional assets (that is, it seems to work but they don’t “stick”), AND the font size on the admin panel jumps up on submit, AND still getting all the SQL.
I’m sort of wondering if I got a dev / debugging version of the plugin somehow?
Everything works as expected if I disable NSM Publish Plus.
FWIW, I don’t have LG Live Look installed yet and I don’t have Live Look template for the weblog/section in question. Also, tried changing from file field to nGen file field but it made no difference. (Works when NSM Publish Plus is disabled, doesn’t work when enabled).
Please advise, not sure where to proceed from here…
Received word from Leevi. The SQL display was because I had email debugging still set to on in System Prefs > Email Config.
He said that “Third party plugins must support quicksave and previewfunctionality to be fully compatible with NSM Publish Plus.”
I disabled NSM Publish Plus and upgraded nGen file field to 0.9.10 and tested it. It works as I would expect it to:
This works as I would expect it to, why would it save if you didn’t save? If I am understanding this correctly (if not, please someone correct me so I can use this!) then the NSM Publish Plus ‘Save Draft’ and ‘Submit for Approval’ triggers something akin to ‘Preview’ not to ‘Publish’. Because the uploads don’t “stick” if you save a draft. Our editors only have the option to ‘Save Draft’ and ‘Submit for Approval’ and neither actually saves uploads - this pretty much nullifies the whole point of NSM Publish Plus or am I missing something here?
It’s also not working with Playa.
