CM faviconizEE extension

Adds custom favicon to your ExpressionEngine’s Control Panel.

Note: There is knowing conflict with Low CP extension 1.0. Upgrade Low CP to latest version order to work CM faviconizEE correctly.

Installation:

  1. Make sure, you are running ExpressionEngine version 1.4 or above;
  2. Upload the file “ext.cm_faviconizee.php” to folder: /system/extensions/;
  3. Upload the file “lang.cm_faviconizee.php” to proper language folder /system/language/;
  4. Go into Extensions Manager in your admin area: CP Home > Add-Ons > Extensions
  5. Enable CM faviconizEE extension;
  6. Check the extension settings and put URL to your favicon;
  7. If you’re running multisite, repeat step 6. for each site.

Tip: I’m using the same website favicon in Control Panel but with different color range. So I can easily differ my opened frontend and CP tabs. It’s very useful in developing process or multisite.

Hi Gabriel,

Nice extension indeed!

One suggestion: your extension would be even better if its settings text input “Full URL to your favicon image” would accept such EE variable as {site_url}, as here:

{site_url}images/favicon.ico

This would allow to avoid tweaking settings when site is moved to a new server.

Not a big deal, of course, but in case you have many extensions, then going through all of them and tweaking their setings becomes tedious.

Hi Laisvunas,

good suggestion. Thanks. I’ll try implement this feature.

If you won’t to use full URL, put into field following code

../images/favicon.ico

My priority is MSM support but I need learn first how…
