Mark’s Shopping Cart plugin is the $50 well spent 😊 Great stuff!

Now we can make proper online shop using EE.

There is one thing missing though: Encrypted payments option.

I know I can (and will) do some custom PHP programming to encrypt the PayPal payment form, but if the option was built in, the plugin would be brrrrilliant!

Without it, it’s just excellent 😉

Other nice-to-haves: - option to fetch item price without envoking SC module - option to redirect to custom url after adding an item to cart - option to empty cart on payment completition (when users get back from PayPal)

Hi Milan,

Many thanks for the kind words and thanks for the ideas on updates to the plugin. I’ve recently been made redundant so have some more time on my hands now so will take a look at these ideas when I can.

Just excellent :-( ?

… just kidding 😊 Thanks for the kinds words.

I have actually been taking a look at getting an encrypted form put together into the plugin although I think to do this I might need to make it all into a small extension / plugin combo instead. I do actually have an encrypted form working on my own setup but a lot of it was hard-coded although it does indeed work. I will definitely take a look at getting this integrated whenever I can.

Other nice-to-haves: - option to fetch item price without envoking SC module

Do you mean for a weblog entry if it exists as a product? If so then this could be done either with a custom query or a simple little plugin to first check to see if the weblog entry has indeed been added to the SCM and then outputting the price.

- option to redirect to custom url after adding an item to cart

You should already be able to do this if you utilise the redirect=”“ parameter and don’t use the referring_page=”yes” parameter. This should then enable you to redirect to wherever you like.

- option to empty cart on payment completition (when users get back from PayPal)

This is actually already possible now if you just send your payment processor back to your site and make it direct to a template that has the empty cart plugin code on it. You can then use the redirect=”“ parameter in that plugin tag to direct the user to wherever you like after it has emptied the cart 😊

Thanks again for the ideas, will definitely keep these in mind.

Best wishes,

Mark

Sorry to hear about the job, but I’m glad you’re in a good mood 😊!

Thanks for the tips! I’ve just implemented them and it works great! I should have read the your docs more carefully.

Encrypted form feature for would be a killer, but the plugin is still awesome!

I try my best to never be in a bad mood anyway so hopefully no-one will ever come across me in one 😉

No problem at all. Glad it’s all working for you the way you want. Would be good for you to post a link to your site here once it’s up and running so people can see what it all does.

Yep will definitely be taking a look at that again some time soon.

Best wishes,

Mark

The shopping cart is in use here:

It’s helping sell PDF files and journal subscriptions.
