I"m also really interested in an estimated release date for Foxee 2. For now, I have manually coded all of the foxycart stuff in EE 2, but hopefully I can upgrade to using Foxee soon.

An update on Foxee 2:
We are currently in Beta testing for Foxee 2 and are looking for experienced Foxee users that have time to help with the testing process. This would require time to test in a dev environment and is not meant as a public beta or for commercial projects.
Feel free to contact me if you are interested.

Hi
Not sure if this has been answered earlier in the forum…but…
I am hoping to make a Window blinds eShop on Expression Engine. I am thinking Foxee is the one to use, but the biggest thing for me to get from it, would be custom pricing.
I must be able to change the prices based on certain attributes. Roman Blind is the product…..pricing is different for different materials, drop lengths, width, tassles…etc
So the customer would need to type what ‘cm’ width they would need and the price would update depending on what would be entered.
Is this possible?
thanks

Hi Kreate, thanks for your interest in foxee. You can achieve what you want to do but instead of allowing the customer to enter a value for length lets say, you would need to create a pricing option allowing them to select from a set of lengths. Like 24”, 24 1/4” 24 1/2” etc…
If you want the user to be able to enter exact dimensions then you would need to build some special programming that would calculate that and put it into the form. Feel free o contact us directly if you have more questions.

Thanks for getting back to me….
Thats fine, am i to assume then that they can choose from a drop down the list of options and then the price changes?
What about with it being more than one variable. They choose the width, prices changes, then they choose the drop length, the price changes, then they choose the fabric, the price changes…...?
thank again

You can set up multiple Pricing Option groups with each changing the price independently of each other so yes it would be possible.

Any new information about Foxee playing nice with EE 2.0?
#218 / Feb 21, 2010 11:18am
They have said that they are developing a release for 2.0 but it has not been released yet. I would check out their website for more details on when they are going to release the new version

quick questions after talking with a client.
How much would a web site owner have to use the actual foxycart web site to manage the ecommerce of a web site? Adding, editing and deleting products as well as orders are available in expression engine backend. My prospective client doesnt want several different system to manage, so I want to give a good answer to them about how much they would need to log into both systems. I know initially, I would have to set up stuff in foxy cart, like categories, etc, right?
best

After the initial FoxyCart set up (setting the correct URL’s and Foxycart categories, payment gateway) you will never need to go back to FoxyCart site. You will be able to manage all of your products and orders via the EE CP.

nice. that is what I thought. It has been a little bit challenging to explain the need of foxEE and foxycart to my clients, especially the $15 per month.

additional questions. I just got signed a new client that needs ecommerce. I am planing on using ee and foxee/foxycart for it. This site will be bilingual which I know is possible with expression engine. (I did it before). My questio: Is it possible to make the checkout process bilingual as well? The checkout process happens on the external foxycart temmplate, so would that be possible? does foxycart have a language option?

Can anyone recommend FoxEE?
I purchased it a while ago and am just looking into implementing. I’m concerned about the devot-ee reviews: http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/foxee/
Since Carthrob has been recently released that seems to be getting allot of community interest and hence maybe community knowledge/support will build up on the EE forum and other EE resources/websites.
If that’s the case, and the consensus is that it’s better [in other ways too], I may not wish to even start using up time /trying/ to use FoxEE (if it’s buggy/badly documented (not sure as I didn’t look at the docs in detail before purchasing) as the reviews suggest).
