Any ExpressionEngine members bought one?!
I did, loving it. Added some useful apps. The forums look especially legible on the smallish screen.

Is it better then an iPhone? :D I haven’t gotten to look at them yet, but I’d love to mess with one.

I wanted one until I found out that it won’t synchronize with a Microsoft Exchange Server. I need it for work email and until they implement that, I won’t be getting one. Although I understand their motives with wanting people to use GMail, it’s just not a realistic.

Motive? i know of no motive. ive been reading, researching this phone for a long time.
hhmm
“whatcha talking about, Willis?”

Well I’m not sure any motive has been publicly stated, but I’m assuming that Google wants anyone using their Android platform to use their Gmail for business, not connect it to a Microsoft Exchange Server. Just my own conspiracy theory. 😉

My brother bought one. It’s pretty cool. But I like my iPhone better. 😊

I’m the only one at my work with the G1, surrounded by a horde of Happy Go Lucky iPhone users, here’s what I have that they ... *cough* ... don’t.
multiple input methods, you have a touch screen, so do i, plus 4 hardware buttons, a trackball AND a full qwerty keyboard.
iPhone has only 1 hardware handset, and 1 OS. we have many:
7 Mobile Operators, 9 Semiconductor Companies (including Intel), 4 Handset Manufacturers, and 10 Software Companies (the list is here).
iPhone users can not multi-task, AFAIK you can have the music player in the background, but when you close an app, the OS closes the app, requiring relaunch. we can just go back to an app previously opened.
you have a proprietary multi-touch, neat. you have an amazing GUI, neat, but lookit these!
I have been enjoying my phone and showing it off at work. Everyone loves their iPhone, I’m not knocking it. It’s nice.

The last thing I want to do is multi-task, and much less on a phone. I’m a GTD fan/proponent (which I see you’re fond of as well judging by your signature) so multi-tasking, to me, is counter-productive. I did it for years and it didn’t serve me all that well. 😉

I was gonna say… For a second I thought it was going to turn out to be one of those “mine’s got more features” BS threads that end up absolutely nowhere. 😊
I like the G1 - it’s pretty friggin’ cool from what I’ve seen - but I wouldn’t give up my iPhone for it, especially since it works so seamlessly with my all-Mac studio. 😊

(01) Having ADD, well, I have to multi-task. I can’t just do one thing. I try, but ... get caught up in juggling. haha.
As for GTD, I have both of Davids books: GTD & Ready for Anything.
(02) That’s what I SOOO wanted out of Windows Mobile - seamless. But no!
Since I do use the web about 80% of my waking day, I tend to rely heavily on Google, Gmail, Reader and lately, Calendar for almost all of my needs.
All I need is two way syncing with RTM and I’ll be golden! 😊

I hear ya - my brother has ADHD and it’s difficult for him to do one thing. Unless that one thing happens to be playing video games. 😊

I use Google’s stuff quite a bit as well. But being a designer first, developer second, I’m a total interface snob. 😊 And while Gmail is awesome, I can’t stand looking at it any longer than I have to. Not that it’s terrible, mind you… I just like polish (without excess). 😊
Alas, to each his/her own. 😉

Why in the world would anyone want to carry their work in a pocket?
I like the “I can not be reached - leave a voice mail” feature the best!
Google and MS probably won’t dance ...pride thing, after Gman threw the glow into Bill’s face.

Why in the world would anyone NOT want to carry their work in a pocket?
i spend a good 50-80% of my day online, its a personal AND business choice.

hehehe I was kidding or I would not be here 😊
But they must enter the exchange/ms world in order to gain some corporate fans running on ms beast. iPhone realized this very quickly…or so I hope to get an excuse to get my hands on it. 😊

iPhone FTW… Apple started the “trend” and are ahead of the curve as usual.
Although the Blackberry Storm is at least attempting… The touch/Click screen is unique…

The cool thing about android is that its open source. I can’t wait for all the apps. Has anyone else looked into developing apps for the iphone? jeez.
I’m waiting for more of a selection of hardware running android before I get one.
