hmm ok now we are getting somewhere. Remove the defer again and move the swfobject.js call above all the rest of the javascript and we’ll see if loading that first fixes it

This is really strange. My colleague is telling me it’s not working in IE7 on his machine. He has got Flash player installed and he can see http://www.monoslideshow.com, but not the slideshow on my site! We’ve also tampered with his security settings but no success so far. Can anybody help me out here?

Hi Vinnie,
sorry, saw your last post too late. I moved the javascript call up a bin. Is it working now?

I thought I was helping? Your best bet now would be to make a stripped down template and start adding back one by one untill you find your culprit

It worked once and then the refresh brought the error up again

Interesting… My colleague mentioned something similar while the “defer” attribute was in the javascript call. I added it again. Working now?

no it is not showing the flash but the alternative content. Try adding the defer bit to the actual javascript in the middle of your template. What it does is the same as calling your javascript fromthe bottom of the page. It just defers the loading of it. So take it off the swfobject.js and add it to the script tag underneath your mmsholder layer

OK, done. Any progress?

Cool, I think that has cracked it, on IE6 and FF3 on a PC anyways

My colleague is telling me that it doesn’t show up, no matter what I do. This is really strange. I wonder why e-man can see it. IE7 really sucks…
I will have to present the version with the static image to my client tomorrow…
Thank you very much for your help so far.

Doesnt show in what? Make sure your colleague clears his cache if in IE7 and try again. As I said it is now working for me

In IE7. He didn’t know how to clear his cache but refreshed the page a couple of times. Shouldn’t that be enough? Anyway, you’re probably right. I will contact him again tomorrow (it’s almost midnight here now).

Hi,
I have tried a couple of things now (the guys over at the Monoslideshow forum also helped me out), but nothing works for IE7. Nothing! All I get is error messages: Error loading slideShow “monoslideshow.xml”
Is there another Flash slideshow that you guys can recommend and that WORKS in IE7?

I’ve used Slideshowpro on several occasions with good results.
Another option would be to just use a Javascript solution: check innerfade for jquery.
Good luck!

But how did you get it to work?? Can you show me some working examples? That would be great… Thanks.
